We’ve created an online marketplace focused on graphics for streamers and content creators. We’re now taking applications from designers to sell items in our online shop! We want to give our users the opportunity to find graphics to fit their needs and design tastes, while giving designers the ability to reach hundreds of thousands of people.

FAQs

Will I be able to sell my designs elsewhere?
Yes, you will have full control on where you sell your designs.

Is everyone approved?
No, all applications will be evaluated by a member of the Nerd or Die team. To ensure high quality content and products for our users, we will only be select designers.

What types of products may be sold on the market place?
You may list any items you feel will help streamers and content creators (for Twitch, YouTube, Hitbox, etc.). This can include overlays, Twitch panels, background videos, code snippets, stream notifications, and one time use logos. Products must be designed for end users, meaning we only sell products that are ready to go immediately after download. Products that include .psds, .css, or other types of “raw” files, must also include files that all end users can use. Meaning, you can decide to include your original design files in the product if you’d like.

How will I receive feedback on my designs?
We have a private discord created for vendors of our store. You can freely discuss any projects you’re working on. Also, all designs will be subject to evaluation by a managing member of Nerd or Die. Meaning, any item listed will be evaluated by our team. If we feel there are important improvements to be made, we will let you know before they are able to be listed. Lastly, you’ll be able to Email us any questions you might have about your designs, pricing, and promotions on our store.

How do my products get onto the store?
Through the vendor dashboard you will be able to list your products yourself, and they will be posted live after evaluation and approval. If you are not confident with handling posting items yourself, a member of Nerd or Die will be able to post the products for you. You will still be required to write up full descriptions of your products.

How can I track sales of my products?
All vendors will receive a log-in to our website that allows them to access the vendor dashboard. Here, you will be able to view all your sales information and expected commission payouts.

When are my payments sent to me?
The first and 15th of each month.

What percentage of sales will I receive from my products?
Commission percentages will be discussed privately, but you are guaranteed to receive more than a majority percentage of sales.

How do I price my products?
Prices are for our vendors to ultimately determine, but you may ask advice to members of the Nerd or Die team if you are unsure.

When will this marketplace be open to approved vendors?
Approved vendors may create their account, receive information about posting their products, and begin discussing ideas today. However, the marketplace won’t be officially open to new vendors until March 15th, 2017. We are still in the process of finalizing rules, guidelines, and procedures.

    Why are commission percentages private if you’re trying to create a multi-artist storefront?

    This has the headline of a job posting and the content of a sales platform registration pitch. It’s probably fine but are you looking for someone to actually join your team and collaborate WITH you as a colleague, or are you looking for people to help make a new distribution platform more relevant as a business by selling their products through you?

    If that’s the case then you aren’t hiring anyone, as the headline seems to imply in which event everyone should be experiencing the same share percentage until generated revenue starts to show a difference.
    This is why virtually every other platform involved in distribution of others’ products have a standard and publicly listed share percentage.

    Turbosquid, Envato Market; All the ‘big players’ in the market have their rev splits outlined clearly and publicly so everyone is assured they are getting the same deal that everyone else had when they signed on.

    Hopefully things go well for you, but that’s a huge red flag for me. Bet of luck to you all.

      Great questions.

      First, at the time of this post (and still for the short time), we’re still tweaking the exact percentages for each type of vendor. Until I’m 100% set on the proper commission percentage I will not list it here. This also means I won’t add new products from the new vendors until this is in writing also (which will be very soon). This post was meant to get people started in the process to becoming a vendor on the marketplace, which only approved artists can join. I will add to the FAQ and the information explained here shortly as well.

      In this marketplace I’d like to create the opportunity for vendors to collaborate with other vendors, or even myself. Meaning for some projects you’ll receive less, and others the base percentage. However, you’re correct, and I can understand your position. I should and will post a base commission percentage for anyone that does all the work on a product – currently the rate we’re discussing is 60% of sales as a base commission – here I was wrong to list this as I did, and should have left this question out until the answer was decisive. I’m currently working with 3 other designers as test cases to make sure things operate smoothly. Meaning if you sell something for $10, you’ll earn $6. I believe this is in line with Envato marketplace’s exclusive author cut, for those that sell $40,000.

      We’re currently a new and niche marketplace, so I’ll make sure to note and add any changes that I find helpful.

      As for the “Join Our Team” headline, I still feel this is fine, as I want vendors to be able to work together within the Nerd or Die and create products that they might not be able to on their own. For example, on a recent project, one of the designers did not know how to do HTML/CSS/JS for a specific part of a project, so I stepped in and completed that part of the project. In this case, I could’ve discussed privately with the designer a percentage of sales I felt was fair for my work, but since it was a test case, I decided to keep the commission percentage the same as before.
