Installation Guide

This alert package is set up specifically for Streamlabs users and utilizes the customization options now available.

  1. Download the alert files from NerdOrDie.com and then unzip everything onto your computer.
  2. Click the Alerts Quick Setup link in your downloaded files to begin installing these alerts.
  3. If you’d like, choose “Create Widget Theme” and name it something appropriate such as “Minimal”. The import link will only override your alert package. This means you combine these alerts with any other scene collection you’ve made in Streamlabs. If you want to save your old alerts, it’s highly recommended to do this in a new widget theme. If you already have an a Widget Theme you want to import into, feel free to import it here.
  4. Select “Use” for the profile you want to import into.
  5. Navigate to “Alert Box” and copy your unique URL.
  6. Paste this URL as a “Browser Source” in your streaming software. We recommend setting the size to the width and height that you stream at.  If you need to scale down, you can do so directly inside of OBS Studio. If you’re using Streamlabs OBS, you may not need to complete this step if your alert box is already added in.
  7. Go ahead and test a few alerts, to make sure things are working properly.

Use the options here to customize each alert. To import a template or to backup your edits, please check the Import/Export tab.

  • Default Streamlabs Options – You can add sounds as normal and adjust the alert duration. The message settings for certain alerts will also work as normal.
  • Do you want the top and bottom area to be the same width? – If this option is set to “yes” then the width of the primary and alternate area will always be the same. When set to “no”, which is the default option, they will be different widths unless the primary area is not as wide as the alternate area. This means if the primary is wider
  • Text Alignment – Align your text to the left, center, or right of your alert area.
  • Main Font – The font used for these alerts.
  • Horizontal Anchor – What part of the screen do you want your alerts anchored to horizontally? You can choose the left, center, or right.

For example, if you choose “X: Right Y: Bottom” the animation for the boxes will begin at the bottom right side of both the primary and alternate area.
  • Animation Speed – This is a percentage multiplier of the animation speed. For example, when set to 200, this doubles the speed of the alert. If set to 50, this halves the speed of your alert.
  • Pause Time – How long to wait before hiding the alerts. The animation speed will affect this. If the animation speed is set to 200 (2x normal speed) and your pause time is set to 5, it will pause for 2.5 seconds before animating out.
  • Horizontal Padding – Space on the left and right of the alert text boxes.
  • Vertical Padding – Space on the top and bottom of the alert text boxes.
