Cyberpunk 2077 Overlays,Stream Alerts & Set Up

Cyberpunk 2077 upon release had a rocky start. Filled with bugs and unpolished elements of gameplay that left a lot of us all feeling let down. Surprisingly, instead of letting the game fade away, the developers worked tirelessly to bring the game up to the standard they had hoped for originally. This has re-ignited the excitement of gamers and streamers alike to explore Night City once again.

If you’re a streamer and planning on sharing your experience on Twitch, YouTube or Facebook Gaming, we’ve created a guide to help you set up the perfect look with overlays, alerts and scenes to support the Cyberpunk 2077 aesthetic.

Best Overlays for Cyberpunk 2077

Our Top RecommendedOverlays for Cyberpunk 2077

Exploring Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be an epic adventure. But designing a stream based around this massive game will be no sweat at all if you follow some the tips found on this page.

Below are our recommended Cyberpunk-ready packages to start with:

Placement of overlay, alerts and other widgets

With a game like Cyberpunk 2077 it’s important to choose the suitable placement for your webcam, supporter bars, alerts and widgets. There’s a lot of action and on-screen elements that you’ll want to avoid. Because of this, we’d recommend considering the value of each source used, and how it works with your stream.

We’ve designed all of our Cyberpunk 2077 overlay themes to be modular. Meaning you can use only what you need, and position almost all sources independent of each other.

Things to consider for your overlay setup

Who are you?

All streams are different, choose elements based on the type of streamer you are. Maybe a chat box if you’re about interaction, or put focus on a mouse-cam if you’re a professional. Maybe nothing but alerts if you want to keep it extra minimal!

Redundancy

Consider redundant elements. If you want to show alerts AND recent supporters, perhaps an event list is best suited instead as a replacement.

Production Flow

Using multiple scenes creates a high-end production. Using hardware such as a Stream Deck or Touch Portal can help make this easier. This will allow you to easily switch between “in game” or “just chatting scenes” that might feature more elements of overlays and allow for an obvious moment for interaction.

In-game UI

One of the most annoying things for a viewer is missing critical in-game information. Things like the dialog, mission notes and even the load-out information is all important, especially for those who are passionate about the game. Avoid covering up this information with your stream graphics. We've highlighted our recommended placement of stream graphics here.

Overlay Area Key:

Red zone – avoid

Blue zone – use sparingly

Green zone – safe

What layoutswork for Cyberpunk 2077 streamers?

Adding stream overlays without sacrificing too much of the in-game information is a tricky task. But with some planning around placement and your personal preferences you will find something that works for you. There are no rules, but below are a some examples using elements from our shop.

Best Cyberpunk 2077 stream overlay - Cybernetik

The obvious choice is our Cybernetik stream package. We’ve chosen to align most stream information to the top left (webcam and alert widget) and added a goal widget to the bottom right safe area. This is showing the default colors, but as with all our packs you can choose other default options to create your own. This format allows quite a lot of additional information without stepping on any of Cyberpunk’s important game UI space.

Cyberpunk 2077 Glitch 2 Overlay Pack

Using the Glitch 2 package we’ve opted for a layout suitable for those who prefer their camera in the bottom right area. We’ve added a goal into this area as well, but it may end up covering some in-game information. To keep track of the important interaction with viewers, we added the support bars in the top left safe area.

We’ve also created a special Cyberpunk 2077 color scheme that’s included free with all purchases.

Cyberpunk 2077 Terminal Overlay Pack

For the minimalist or those who want to blend their design into the game’s UI style, the Terminal Stream Package stream package might be your favorite. Multiple options for green screen webcams and all follows, subscribers, donation and more are tracked with the event list widget.

How to choose your Cyberpunk 2077 overlay and widget colors

If you already have a brand and style guide, then this part is likely quite easy. But if you’re starting out, then you’ll want to consider what tone you want to set when your viewers are tuning into your Cyberpunk 2077 stream. For example, do you want it to feel calm, exciting, fun, serious? A combination?

There’s even some streamers that use different colors for different scenes. For instance, during the action you might want more energetic colors like yellow, red/pink, or even the “electric” blue featured in Cyberpunk art. Then during your breaks, or in between games, you could use more relaxing colors like green, purple or even a neutral off-white or cool gray.

Something to keep in mind is contrast. Have light against dark is very effective for creating designs that are easy for the viewer to look at. Particularly for Starting, Ending and Just Chatting scenes, you will want to ensure the important elements “pop”. You will notice in a lot of our pre-made packages we feature dark backgrounds and making the important things a bright color. This concept applies to in-game elements too.

Does Cyberpunk 2077have DMCA free music?

How to enable DMCA free mode in Cyberpunk 2077

Yes! During Episode 5 of Night City Wire (at 19:31) they announced that they will have a streamer-friendly mode that includes all DMCA free music.

With a big wave of DMCA strikes from Twitch recently, this new mode that allows you to disable copyrighted tracks is a must have for streamers. If you’re planning on streaming it on Twitch, creating YouTube videos, or even sharing on Twitter, we highly recommend this mode.

On console, this mode will begin automatically, but if you’re a PC player you will need to toggle it on in the game options.

We cover DMCA free music options in a blog post here.
