The Retrowave Overlay Pack
Bright neon colors, subtle animated glows, and a heavy dose of nostalgia. This is the Retrowave overlay pack. On top of webcam frames, scene designs, and supporter bars, you’ll also find custom design widgets for your goals and chat box.
The v1.1 patch greatly improves the style and performance of one our best overlay packages. You’ll receive both the new and legacy files of the overlay design.
As part of our Super Charged collection, you can install this with OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS, and StreamElements in just a few clicks. Please note that Super Charged importing only works on Windows at this time.
The overlay pack also includes five color themes, custom coded chat and goal widgets, a stinger transition, and Twitch panels.
The Retrowave Alert Pack
Fully animated alerts that include chromed out designs for your followers and subscribers, a fast driving supercar to show off any new tips, and much more. If you’ve made it this far in the product description, then do yourself a favor and check out the demo video of the alerts.
All alerts that work with both Streamlabs and StreamElements.
Please note, the text animation and designs will not be supported outside of these platforms and are provided in English only.
Support for Twitch, YouTube, Mixer and Facebook alerts on both Streamlabs and StreamElements.
Take full control with our AE source files.
While the 80s had style of its own, it might not be your style. Take full control with the After Effects source files and make Retrowave fit your channel. You’ll be able to take advantage of the master controls we built in to quickly update the colors used.
Want to make a few changes to the animations or layout of the design? Then the source files are exactly what you need to get started.

The Alerts look and present fantastically! My only issue/concern is, is there any possible way to customize the text of the Alerts? I’d like to have them say a custom greeting for Follows/Subs/Donos/etc, but can’t seem to find any way to customize the alerts text, how can I do this?
Unfortunately, due to the highly animated nature of these alerts, we do not have an option to customize the text for these.
Loving the alerts and overlay! Only query I have is if it is possible to remove the viewer amount part of the host and raid alerts?
Yes, just remove the {amount} part from the code, if you scroll a bit down in the HTML file, you’ll find a reference to the {count} – this is basically your text template.
Crazy Shit i Like …no I love this.. Greatings from Germany
Great product, the different alert animations and sound effects really speak to the quality of the package.
My only issue is that my download didn’t come with a StreamElements folder to import the overlays to that service as was advertised in the setup guide.
We’re currently in the process of making this update for the newest version, hopefully will be in there very soon! Sorry about this!
Would like to have a sub goal! there is only a Follower, Bit, and Donation goal! other than that it is a lovely package!
Any plans on AE files to change the english text to something else?
We designed this product to use OBS Studio’s text option as an alternative. At this time we don’t have any plans for the Source Files of this project, but will definitely look into to see if it’s something we can do.
I love this product and has been a great help to my 80s themed stream! I am trying to use it with muxy instead of streamlabs or stream elements currently so I can have multiple alert packages and I can’t seem to figure it out. If someone could help me with this problem I would be grateful. You can reach me at my email, navelow@gmail.com Thanks a lot and the product is great!
Anyway we can get an update on the Alerts so everyone of them is aligned at the top? Some are more in the middle of the alert.
This product is absolutely perfect! The only qualm I have is, the font isn’t resolving within Photoshop on the ‘Retrowave Logo Options.’ It’s giving me a preinstalled font that looks awful.
Any ideas?
If you can, make sure your Photoshop version is up to date. Also, double check that you’ve installed the fonts used.
TLDR; Mostly everything looks great, but… the setup guide has several flaws/bugs, the files provided are missing referenced files from the guide, support hasn’t responded to my reported issues, and some of the non-default themes have overlays that were not fully updated (they’re still using default colors).
The setup guide refers to StreamElements shared scenes/overlays that you simply double click to quickly receive the curated overlays for things like stream starting/ending, just chatting, and be right back. These do not exist within the file’s provided by Nerd or Die, so you’ll have to set your scenes up manually for StreamElements. There are several other outdated/incorrect guidelines that I am not going to re-discover to list here but ought to be updated. This is easy enough, just have someone in QA run through the guide and note all the “bugs.”
Side note, Streamelements overlays are extremely easy to set up and share, so I’m surprised they’re not included in the downloadable files. My best guess is that they exist as mentioned in the tutorial, but at some point, they weren’t transferred over to the latest filesystem. There is a shared StreamElements alert overlay which is appreciated.
Additionally, the Green+Blue (and 1 or 2 other themes’) stackable and bottom overlays do not match the theme as the equivalent “legacy” overlays do. The purple is quite clashy for this theme and it seems like someone simply forgot to update the green+blue’s overlays as it looks like the same purple space backdrop that is in the default theme.
I reached out to Nerd or Die about the mismatch issue several weeks ago and have yet to receive a response.
Update your guide/files and I’ll happily give more stars.
How I arrived at a 3-star rating:
1. Setup Guide is misleading and out-dated, causing users to second guess themselves and waste time looking for files that do not exist. (-1 Star)
2. Non-default themes are not cohesive and do not match their legacy counterparts. (-1 Star)
3. Still looks quite awesome and love the overall theme (+2 Star)
4. StreamElements alert shared link (+1 Star)
Thank you for the fantastic visuals and taking the time to read my review!
Thanks so much for the detailed review. Your review couldn’t have came at a better time. We are in the process of updating all of our old guides to a new style, and making sure the information included is accurate, according to any small/minor updates. We’re also working to improve updates on each pack.
This is something new for us, so having feedback like yours will definitely help us figure out the best ways to handle this, especially in the case of updates.
For StreamElements, we will be making the same updates as well (this should be available within a week or sooner of this reply) – not only will the files be available via the link, but the alerts and widgets will be available as well.
We will definitely be looking into what happened on the support side, as we pride ourselves in answering tickets and requests as fast as possible. We even set up a Discord command that allows users to open tickets there and have their own dedicated channel to answering their questions.
Thanks once again for such an informative review. We will do our best to address your concerns.
