Setting up your Kick.com profile

Before we get to how to stream on Kick.com, we’re help you create a captivating profile that will keep your viewers interested. Following this guide to create a standout profile that’ll have viewers hooked from the get-go. So, let’s jump in and start personalizing your Kick streaming experience!

Access your Kick profile settings

Once you’ve created your account, click on your profile picture in the top right corner. Choose “Settings” from the drop-down menu and you’ll taken to your profile information page.

Make your Kick avatar pop!

You’ll see a “Profile Preview” section first. Click “Edit Avatar” to upload a dazzling image that represents you! Remember, Kick.com avatars must be JPEG or PNG, with dimensions between 128x128px and 3000x3000px, and no larger than 4MB.

Design an eye-catching offline banner

Your “Channel Offline Banner” is what viewers see when you’re not live. Make it count! Click “Edit Banner Image” and upload a banner that showcases your streaming schedule and socials. Keep in mind, banners should be 1080p (16:9 aspect ratio) and no more than 4MB.

Edit your basic details

Time to fine-tune your “Basic Details”! Here, you’ll edit your username and bio. Your bio will be displayed alongside your channel information, so make it snappy! Click “Edit” to change your username or bio, but remember: you can only change your username once every 60 days.

Add Kick.com Profile Panels

Adding Profile Panels are one of the easiest ways to add professionalism and branding into your page. Panels will help give a visual cue to important parts of your stream. Things you may want to highlights are: About, Socials, Discord, Donate, Subscribe.

Connect your social media on Kick.com

Finally, link up your social media platforms! You’ll see a list of popular options like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Click “Edit” to make the fields editable, and add your links. Kick.com Creator Dashboard

Congratulations on getting your profile set up! Now, let’s get to the good stuff – the Creator Dashboard. To access it, simply click on your profile image in the top right and select “Creator Dashboard” from the drop-down menu. Here, you will find all the essential features for your channel, including Current Stream, Achievements, Revenue, Community, and Settings. Let’s start by taking a look at the Stream section.

Stream

This is where you’ll find all the juicy details for your live streams. In the top left, you’ll see your Activity Feed, which displays all the events that have occurred in the last 30 days, such as Follows, Subscription events, and Host events.

Chat

Directly below that is your Chat box, where you can interact with your viewers and access chat settings. If you click the small gear next to the “CHAT” button, it will open a menu with all of your available options. The first item in those options is “Identity”, where you can customize how your name appears in chat, including color and badges. These options will also be available in channels you are viewing.

Personalization

Next, you’ll find a couple of personal taste options. “Show Gift Subs Leaderboard” displays a leaderboard of your top sub gifters in your chat, so it’s best to leave this option on and give your loyal gifters some love. “Show Message Timestamps” shows a time stamp on when messages are received. Lastly, “Muted Users” and “Banner User” will give you the ability to see whom you’ve muted and banned in chat.

Kick Stream Technical Notes

In order to stream on Kick.com you are required to use a “Custom” Service in your streaming software (show below). To find the correct Stream URL and Stream Key, visit your Stream Key page here.

Technical Stream Settings

  • No higher that 8000kbps
  • 1920×1080 max resolution
  • Maximum of 60fps output. Your vids can stay 120fps and not be downgraded. But, the player in Kick will only play 60fps.

Chat Rules and Filter

You can modify the message when someone joins your chat here. This is a great way to ensure your viewers understand the nature of your channel and behavior that is expected.

Adding an Activity Dock to OBS

While Kick is still in beta there’s not a great way to monitor your stream activity (such as new followers, subscribers etc). So we recommend adding a new dock to your streaming software as a workaround, in this example we’re using OBS Studio.

  1. Visit over to https://kick.com/dashboard/stream
  2. Click the gear icon on Activity Feed and select “Popout Activity Feed”
  3. At the top of the newly launched window. Copy the URL
  4. Open OBS Studio. Select Docks → Custom Browser Docks
  5. Give the dock a name. Example “Kick Activity” and paste the URL

Customize Username Display

You can set a custom username color and adjust what badges are displayed. In the Chat window, click the gear next to the chat button and select identity.
