There’s a lot of great resources out there, and a lot of.. not so great resources too, but fret not! We have gone through the good, the bad, and the downright less-attractive resources, to come up with what we really believe are the best FIVE free content creation resources that you can use right now. Sound good? Let’s take a look then!

1. Framedrop.gg

Free Content Creation Resources - Framedrop.gg

If you’re streaming on Twitch, and you want to take the potential headache out of sifting a 2+ hour long VOD, trying to find the best clips for a compilation or a quick short to post on TikTok, Instagram, or indeed YouTube Shorts, then Framedrop is the solution you have been looking for! There are other options out there that look at your VODs and grab highlights, but Framedrop has something special.

1 Framedrop 01

Once you’ve put your VOD URL in and clicked the get highlights button, you will see what we mean by that. It will begin to place badges on top of the timeline to represent events that occur on your stream, such as kill streaks or funny moments.

You can look through them all and review them individually, deciding which ones you want to trim and download, and on top of that, Framedrop will let you choose from a handful of layouts that’ll suit all type of social media. Once you’re happy with that, it’s a simple case of exporting the clip directly to your socials or you can download it and do it manually yourself.

No software needed!

Their highlight detector is a pretty impressive AI, and considering this is all done somewhere in space, presumably (guessing Mars or Moon but can’t confirm), you don’t have to worry about having a beast computer to run and store any of this.

“But My Game Isn’t Supported!”

Worry not, while yes they do currently support a handful of games, such as Valorant, Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends, and Rocket League is coming soon, they do not have every game available. If you don’t see a game that they support just yet – give them a shout and see if it might be in the pipeline!

While we consider FramDrop to be one of the best free content creation resources, if it’s not quite working for your setup you can always try out these other highlighting websites. They might require a bit more work to find your best moments, but will let you work with a vaster array of games and content.

2 CreatorML 00

CreatorML has a lot of really interesting features going on, and they’re only getting better. Some you have to pay for, but this one? This one is a freebie, and it’s incredible. Let me explain what it is and why it fits into our free content creation resources list.

One of the biggest parts of content creation, especially on YouTube, whether you’re releasing a video, a short or livestreaming, is getting the thumbnail right. And some of us can just magic up a great thumbnail without any need for referencing or inspiration, however we’re not all enjoying that magical gift all the time, and when you need an idea – it’s nice to have a way to access inspiration, this is one of those ways, and arguably the most powerful one available to content creators right now.

2 CreatorML 01

Take a thumbnail from a stream or video on YouTube, and either drag and drop it or upload it on this page, then hit that find similar thumbnail button, and soon, you’ll see a plethora (cool word, wanted to use it, moving on) of references that are focusing on the design of your original upload, trying to find comparable thumbnails that are going to help inspire you to create your next thumbnail.

Now, this is not something to just be copying other people, but you can use it to learn what works, and what doesn’t work, because it’ll let you sort by similarity, views, views per hour (so if the video is really popular at the moment, the views it gets every 60 minutes will be quite high) and publish time. It even lets you see the video titles, which is also half the battle with a lot of YouTube videos and streams.

One of the more powerful free content creation resources, and I would honestly keep an eye on their other features like their custom predictor and video title/thumbnail ranker as well, great team, big brains. Check them out.

3. CapCut‘s Rotoscope Tool

Now if you’ve heard of CapCut or used their website, you’ll know this is not all they do, but good lord I do not have the time to write a 20,000 dissertation on everything amazing this website offers for content creators, and how much of it is free as well. What I do have time for, is their rotoscope tool, because my oh my, is it impressive.

3 Capcut 00

It’s better known as “Cutout” and it does just that – it cuts the subject OUT of the video they’re in, and lets you do whatever you want with them, really (be gentle, unless it’s yourself, then go nuts). You can animate them sliding in, zooming out, putting new backgrounds behind them, even put a 00ff00 chroma green background on and you can place them in as a weird stream redeem, I say them, it’s probably you, but it doesn’t have to be. If you want Chris Tucker to pop up on your screen and say “Gefilte Fish“, you can.. do that, I guess. Rush Hour 2 anyone? 2001? Just me? Coolcoolcoolcool.

3 Capcut 01

It’s not perfectionist quality, but it’s pretty damn impressive, and the alternative is buying Adobe After Effects on subscription and rotoscoping manually within that, it’s better, sure, but it costs, and it isn’t a one button click. ONE BUTTON! Give this a go before you spend any of your money, you might be pleasantly surprised.

4. Adobe Podcast‘s Microphone Enhancer

I really find it crazy that there’s so few people know about this, and maybe it’s because people think you need to pay Adobe for it, but no – all you need is to sign up for a free Adobe account, and you can use this as much as you want.

4 Adobe

Here’s a recording from my phone, before running it through the Enhancer:

Here’s the same recording after Adobe Podcast has enhanced it with their AI magic:

Even listening to the example they have on the main page is impressive, cutting out room noise, weather sounds, traffic, reverb, echo. It’s not a magic wand that’ll make you sound like you have a $400 mic, but I have gotten incredible results with this and my phone recently, so you could 100% use it to improve your microphone, or get this, your teammates microphone!

If you’ve recorded a video of you and a friend playing, and you have their discord audio on it’s own channel, upload it here, let Adobe do their FREE magic for you, and enjoy a much shinier version of your mates dollar store microphone. And double win because now you know what to buy them for their birthday.

I mean, if you like them THAT much, if not.. Adobe Podcast has got you covered.

5. Media Looper

5 MediaLooper 03

So yes, this is in fact one of our products – but it’s genuinely one of the best free content creation resources to have – let me explain why. Configuring this is a breeze, it takes up virtual no CPU footprint when running on your stream (or while you’re recording your videos) and you can use it to promote sponsorships, call to actions (like “Hey check out my X profile!” It’s weird typing that and not Twitter, but here we are), even topics of the day, or information about your stream schedule, you can really go nuts with this.

5 MediaLooper 01

It works with so many formats as well, so you could technically use it to rotate great clip highlights if you wanted, since it lets you use MP4, as well as webM, JPEG, PNG, GIF.. and yes, GIF (pronounced JIF).

5 MediaLooper 02

We’ve a great tutorial on setting it up, and it comes with a few starter images to get you going, but honestly? The sky is the limit with this thing, you can use it in so many ways, and it’s full potential has yet to be fully realised. By the way, if you realise it’s full potential, let us know wh.. what that is, kk thanks x.
